More Interior Design at Hendersonworks

Art takes on many shapes and sizes, miniatures, vehicles and houses are all fair canvases to paint upon. This time a few restoration projects were going on over at Hendersonworks.

Let's take a look at the finished jobs on both! The first was a bathroom in a historic house in South Fayette that had a major need of some patching and updating. Ceiling had a hole and broken fan, and the lighting and sink needed a new look.

The second was a beautiful apartment in Shadyside that had ceiling damage from a roof leak.

Here's the South Fayette house with the pedestal sink already and medicine cabinet/mirror removed. One of the old fluorescent lights is already out too.

The fan came out of the ceiling easier than the new one went in.

New light fixture and fan in place, patching done and primer drying. The owner liked the existing colors so we paint matched the original room color.

Hell Hath No Fury, on a Flat Bill Hat

Joshua had a few commissions recently.

The first was for a friend who saw a hat Joshua did a month or so back. Here he is, Sharpie in hand, working on the next "Flat Bill Hat" art.

The customer left the design work up to the artist. He was confident when he saw the full head tattoo Joshua gave to a friend they have in common.

Don't worry, it was with also with a Sharpie.

I think this will work for him!

Hell Hath No Fury fit on the hat. He couldn't squeeze in "At All" so you'll have to imagine it.

The second was a shirt design for a performance group from our church. They are going to a National Fine Arts competition and wanted a shirt they could all wear with their group name on it.
So here it is.

He had to do a bit of work to get the separations made but otherwise very rewarding.

Oakdale Hotrod Company by Hollywood Henderson

Here's the latest creation from Hollywood Henderson! The Truck is a 1949 Chevy with "air-ride" suspension owned by the "Cobra" who hails from downtown Oakdale PA.

Hollywood sprayed the truck in a fresh coat of "Vintage Vertebrae" white paying tribute to what appears to be a vertebrae of some sort, unsure if human and not sure if noteworthy, that came hanging from the rear view mirror of the truck when it arrived in Oakdale after being shipped from deep in the Louisiana bayou.

The door Logos were inspired by the 100 year old steamer trunk logo that can be seen in the bed of the truck. We're unsure of what O.H.Co. originally meant but it seemed fitting to assume "Oakdale Hot Rod Company.

The logos are a mixture of spray and brush work. They were added after the base was sufficiently aged.

Hopefully the door logos will inspire others with an upcoming project 100 years from now!

Building and Painting Scale Model Scenery

Have been busy so not too many posts recently. We'll try to remedy the situation as time goes by.

Amazing what you can do with cardboard, foam and a few popsicle sticks!

Practical Painting - Interior Design!

Had a couple opportunities recently to help a few folks out with some more conventional "art" in the form of interior painting. It's a refreshing past-time from the computer and I get to use larger brushes from 28mm miniatures like the Anglo-Saxon Viking warriors we finished for Battleground Hobbies.
Got to help with a railing and entryway at one house and three rooms in the second. Here's what was accomplished.

The three story entryway needed a good painting with trim work too and the added bonus of needing to stain and polyurethane the 5 sections of handrail.

Oh and the beautiful snow globe needed replaced!

New lighting too! Snow globe was retired!!

The second project was interior paint work on a dining room bedroom and game-room. This is the dining area before...

Nice bright color in a bright area!

Bedroom was painted seal-gray which actually turned out nice.

Lastly was the game-room. Painted an intriguing navy blue. It worked in the room. Two happy customers and one happy painter!

Customized Masada AEG Airsoft Rifle

Joshua customized his Masada Adaptive Combat Weapon System Airsoft AEG Rifle. He belongs to a team that plays regularly at Steel City Airsoft in Bridgeville PA.

He started with adding the "olive green" inserts..

then moved on to a stenciled logo on the stock.

As always, the lad did an awesome job!
